This wedding cake idea is appropriate for a winter theme.  It is relatively simple to make and is decorated with sugar or pastillage snowflakes.  The snowflakes graduate in size as the cake rises and are attached with royal icing.

The cake layers are hexagonal in shape the reflect the snowflake theme and are draped in rolled fondant.  Depending on how you position the wedding cake stand, it becomes almost invisible.
